The discipline

What we deliberately do not count.

To keep the estimate conservative, the model leaves out four things that would make the number larger.

01
Cancellations that just get rebooked.
Most prevented cancellations would have moved to another day and been done anyway. We count only the share that never comes back.

The price of the surgery.
A lost case costs you its contribution margin, not its bill. The implants, supplies and variable staff time were never spent.
03
Work you are not paying for.
If an outside physician office already does the pre-op workup, there is nothing to save. We count only hours on your payroll.
04
Prevented complications.
Under fee-for-service a complication is billable revenue, so preventing one costs you money. It is real value only inside a risk contract, so it stays out of this page.
